Thank you and a Note about Summer Plans

A massive thank you to all members who have renewed their subscriptions for 2021. We’re delighted to see so many familiar faces returning, and a surge in interest from new members too.

Paying your subs early facilitates the programme we’ve got planned for the summer ahead, and allows us to make plans for improvements at the club, so a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the club. Members who haven’t yet renewed can please do so as soon as possible by logging in at:

We’re beginning to get clarity on what will be possible this summer, and there’s plenty of good news for members. From April 26th, we can resume training of under 18s in pods of up to 15 people, including coaches and rescue.

Each boat will be able to have up to two households on board which means single and double handed dinghies can get on the water, accompanied by a rescue or coach boat.

So for now, we are planning on getting training groups of under 18’s on the water from the end of April. Launching of keel boats is allowed within the regulations but crewing can only be done by two households.

The next phase in the easing of restrictions will be announced on May 4th, and we’re hopeful that at that stage, sailing in company for adults will be allowed in May. Racing is still not permitted, and as yet, there are no clubhouse facilities available except toilets. But we’re optimistic that we’ll be racing in June, and outdoor hospitality on the bar terrace can resume at some point after that.
