Event Information
Waterford Harbour Sailing Club in conjunction with Topper Ireland are pleased to be hosting the 2019 Topper Southern Championships at Dunmore East in County Waterford in mid June.

Additionally, with the support of Irish Sailing we will host a Topper Training Day immediately preceeding the Championships.
We look forward to welcoming all the young Topper sailors and their parents to our club and hope that a weekend of competitive sailing and fun is enjoyed by all.

How to get there:
When arriving in Waterford:
- Take the ring road to Ardkeen Hospital roundabout and turn right onto the R684 to Dunmore East
or
- Drive down the quays and turn left immediately after the Tower Hotel onto the Dunmore Road (R684)
Dunmore East is approx. 18km from Waterford City centre and the sailing club is located on the west pier of the Fisheries Harbour.

Parking:
Boat Parking: When you arrive at the club there will be designated areas for boats to be parked with separate sections reserved for Junior and Youth boats. Please follow the instructions of our boat park attendants.
Car & RIB Trailer Parking: Vehicle, boat and/or RIB trailer owners will be requested not to park in the area around the clubhouse or west pier. Limited parking will be available between the Harbour Masters Office and the RNLI Station.
There is a large parking area, known as Shanoon close to the harbour area. To avoid congestion in the harbour area it is suggested that visitors should park at Shanoon. To get there you should drive down onto the harbour access road and immediately turn right after the Apartments up to the parking area. There are good views of Dunmore East from Shanoon and WHSC clubhouse is only a short walk from there. Please note that Shanoon is not a supervised parking area.
RIB Launching:
If you intend to bring a RIB then please fill in ‘Visiting RIB Registration Form’ during Registration.
RIBs can be launched down the slip behind the clubhouse any time prior to the event but RIB owners are requested not to launch after 9am on the Saturday or Sunday morning of the event to avoid unnecessary congestion around the clubhouse and on the slip.
Topper Boat Road Trailers:
A fenced area in front of the RNLI Station will be reserved for boat road trailers, however space in this area is limited and not guaranteed.
Club Catering:
Friday 21st June: Pizzas will be available in the clubhouse all day
Saturday 22nd June: Tea/coffee & cake available all morning
Hot pasta for sailors immediately coming off the water
‘Event BBQ’ starts at 5pm
Sunday 23rd June: Tea/coffee & toasties available all day
Hot pasta for sailors immediately coming off the water
Sunday BBQ immediately after Prize Giving
Parents are particularly requested to support the ‘Event BBQ’ on the Saturday evening to make it an enjoyable occasion for all.
Competitors should bring their own packed lunch each day in a waterproof lunch bag for consumption on the water.
