Re-cycle Your Old Gear

The club is doing it’s best to reach out to the community and attract new sailors, we’ve had lot’s of success with initiatives like ‘try sailing’ and ‘school sailing’.

Of course this often means bringing large groups onto the water who have no access to suitable gear.

We’d like to put a call out for any unused gear (like wetsuits, spray tops or buoyancy aids) which is too small or just gathering dust to be put to good use at the club.

If you have any gear to donate, please leave it at the bar or in the boathouse with Dave Marsden.

Thank you everybody, once again, for supporting your club.

Missing Club Buoyancy Aids

IMG-20180613-WA0000-169x300.jpg

We have 5 missing club buoyancy aids from last season and they are sorely missed for school sailing.

Can we kindly ask anyone who made use of club buoyancy aids to check they have been returned to the club. Any discoveries can be left at the clubhouse bar or with Dave Marsden.

Thank you.

First Day of Try Sailing

How lucky can we get ? Glorious weather and tall ships in Dunmore East at Anchor offered the best possible start to the Volvo Boland sponsored Try Sailing Series.

Over 35 people from 6 till 60 went on the water and our formula of having Optimists, Wayfarers and Cruisers ensured there was the right boat for everybody.

The very young ones in the Optimists had a blast and some of them are offspring of long lost members ex Dunmore East ; Welcome home !

Next week bookings are being snapped up and we hope to have some more spaces available to offer sound instruction and lot’s of fun.

Bookings can be made via : https://waterfordsailing.eventbrite.ie

Thank you to all our Cruiser Skippers who volunteered their yachts and time , all the rescue boat drivers and all the dinghy skippers’ you are great ambassadors to WHSC. THANK YOU !!
