Ben O’Sullivan nominated Irish Sailing Volunteer of the Year

The role played by WHSC volunteers in getting us all safely on the water, and helping us to navigate a challenging time, was more important than ever last year. And so it’s with great pride that we wish one of our most dedicated, Ben O’Sullivan, the very best of luck at the Irish Sailing Awards next Thursday.

Ben has deservedly been nominated Volunteer of the Year at the awards, which take place at 7pm on February 11.

Everyone involved in Waterford Harbour Sailing Club will be aware of Ben’s enormous contribution to the club in terms of hours logged on the water and in the shed, dedication, encouragement, technical and coaching skills and his boundless enthusiasm. Without volunteers like him – and like so many of you – none of what we do would be possible.

There will be interviews and chats with nominees and winners on the night. Other categories include Senior Instructor of the Year, Training Centre of the Year, and Sailor of the Year. Let’s help to mark the end of a challenging, sad year for so many with a hopeful eye to the horizon. Good luck, Ben.
