17 ribs / motor boats set off at 9.30 last Monday with a total of 72 people on board , bound for St Mullins in Carlow led by Shane Statham.

After a stop to refuel and pick up some new passengers in New Ross , we made the 27 mile trip in good time and landed about 11.30 after a magical journey up the river …the scenery was absolutely stunning

Martin in the Mulliochan Cafe had some wonderful food ready for all the seafarers having opened specially for WHSC as Monday is normally a closed day for them.

Tides dictated that we had to depart again before 1.30 and the last three boats will testify to very shallow water … A close thing !
The journey back down river was equally enjoyable and it was really pleasing that all boats arrived back to the clubhouse without any engine issues.

If you missed the trip you will enjoy the video !
We had a fun presentation afterwards in the clubhouse with little Seb Harris being feted as our youngest participant
More days out like this are a must for WHSC members
Well done to everyone & more to follow
